Print Designs

2020

This project was a part of an exhibition et MuseumMidtjylland. The museum selected some of their objects in advance, which were to create inspiration for the new exhibits. Due to the covid-19 situation, the exhibition was held online on the Instagram profile @Nyfortolkning.

I chose a Swiss Cloth that was used in teaching in the18th century and was seen as part of the young girls’ education in keepinga good hygiene and behaving properly, which the Swiss Cloth symbolizes with its embroidered flowers and leaves arranged in a static composition.

With my exhibition object, I would like to show the contrast between this and todays more free and interpretive approach to nature as a source of inspiration in a teaching context.

The elements of the two prints are created analogously and are then digitally processed. This allowed me to both make two textile digitalprints and afterwards print postcards with the motifs.
